Life, laughs, love and tears.
OR how did this cat steal my heart?
Published on September 14, 2007 By Trudygolightly In Pets & Nature

She gets these running streaks,   she must think she's still a kitten or maybe she's running and playing the way the animals do on Africa cam.

She lets out the most planitive type of wailing,  then looks around to see if anyone is listening and then if I glance at her,   she's off and tearing up the hallway.

Sometimes she'll jump up on furniture and then jump back off right away,  sneak up on me ( she thinks) and try to slap me with her paw.

The good thing about having her as a pet is that she craves routine.  Pretty much like a child that way,  she has to go to her litter box first thing,   eat,   wash herself,  then petting and grooming,  then nap on me.

I love how she enjoys going to sleep on me,  her left front paw on my shoulder,  her right front paw tucked under herself,   her head curled into my blouse.  She'll look up,  touch noses,  and then try to eat my glasses,   the way she does to my blouse buttons!

She discovered that she loves boxes.  I got a delivery yesterday and last night she ran into the box,  made a circle like a dog about to lay down,  chasing her tail.  I got a video of her going in and out of that box,  using her nose to try to open it,  and I was quite surprised that she slept in it for a few hours,  after all she's got an expensive ( cheaply made) bed,  also  a sturdy box with my best pillow in it,  and she chooses a flimsy cardboard box with no cushioning!  Much like a child at Christmas huh??!!

I've heard cats hiss at dogs,  however this cat growls!  If someone is outside my door and is talking and not knocking,  she'll let out a growl that'd scare a bulldog!

The other night she growled when the neighbor's weiner dog let out a couple of woofs as he was waiting to leave the complex.

She can't stare me down,   however she HAS shot me some mighty angry looks,   to which I just return them...and then she looks away and goes about licking herself,  or turning her back to me...

what a cat!

Sounds like our baby too!  She wants to play and will tackle the other cats when they come in.  But they have gotten too old for kitty play.

They can be a great source of entertainment to be sure.

I haven't seen Chanel around other cats,  however she IS 8 years old now,  just the same age as Goldie and it seems she should be settling down pretty soon!!

Yep,  thanks   and she keeps me from feeling too down too.  Today I fell again and this time she came running and sat and watched me until I was able to get up.  I almost think she might have put up a fuss if I hadn't stirred,  thank God I didn't hit my head one of the women here did!  SHHE needed 5 stitches cause she hit the counter when she fell.

If she is 8 years old, she is Peter Pannish!  She will never grow up!  Hey!  Enjoy it!  My older cats (some only 4) are old foagies.  Loving and such, but not playful.  You have a winner!

As the saying goes "Cats have servants, not owners"

Our Royal presence keeps trying to train her humans, with singular lack of success - although we do try feeding her things that dont clash with the carpet

I feed Chanel cat food only,  save for the grass I grow for her,  yet her tummy and it's contents mix occasionally,  almost seems that getting upset emotionally brings it on...

Well one needs to be brighter than the "The Royal presence"!  just the same as when one trains a dog,  my former best ever pet,  Peppy,  a Llasa-apso/terrier  trained me brilliantly!
