So what if I didn't like it? I'd call it a "snoozer", the kind I sleep through at drive-ins, if I'm alone
It was just plain boring, well there was a couple of surprises in it, and a few laughs. I was surprised it was funny enough in spots to coax a belly laugh outta me.
If I"m gonna watch a comedy, I prefer something like the original "The Odd Couple" with Jack Lemon and Walter Mathau. I think that's funny. The Three Stooges was a group I couldn't stand, however "The Little Rascals" ( the orignals again) are tops for giggles and a feel good show.
I bet most of you haven't heard of "Francis the Talking Mule", it was big back in the 50's, and a forerunner of "Mr. Ed". There might have been movies or shows with this theme before "Francis".
Laurel and Hardy only made me cry, I couldn't stand how much the skinny one got bullied by the big one. It's a lot like the western heroes of the 50's, with lots of violence, more than I remembered until I started watching them recently. My older sister had mentioned to me that she thought they were too violent and then I watched a few and was surprised. Odd too that of all the western heroes, the only one that had a wife was Roy Rogers, in the shows I mean. Gene Autry, who had some really gorgeous horses, usually kissed them! Lord did I like his singing voice!
The cowboys usually had more than one horse too, there were several "Champions", the horse that Gene Autry rode. Same for "Silver", and of course there was "Trigger" and Trigger Jr.
Oh I can write forever about those silver screen cowboys, I guess it was the horses I went to the movies to watch though. I think it was the Lone Ranger I looked up to the most, and used to be Trigger was my favorite horse "in the day".
I'm trying to talk my son into watching "High Crimes" with me, or else "Murder at 600" although I think he's seen that last one.
We usually compromise and end up watching a cartoon blitz, or else a movie like "Star Wars"......whatta way to spend the day.
And how's the day going where you are?
